Join us for an evening of stargazing at a Dark Sky Park. This event is weather-dependent.

Join us for an evening of stargazing where the stars are big and bright! We will have telescopes set up at this come-and-go event along with information on what makes our park unique as a Gold-Tier Certified Dark Sky Park. 

No registration needed, but a day pass or overnight camping permit is required to attend this event. 

This event is subject to cancellation if weather conditions do not allow for night sky viewing. Updates will be posted on this page in the event of a cancellation.

Meet: At the front parking lot (northeast of headquarters at the eastern Loop Trail trailhead). Refer to map at the bottom of this page.

Park: In the Summit Trail parking lot. Please park with headlights facing towards Enchanted Rock (i.e., north).

Bring: Comfortable shoes, water, lawn chair or blanket (we will be on pavement), and a red light flashlight or headlamp. 

Entrance fees: $8/adult; children 12 and under are free; no additional fees for this event. Reserve your permit at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Entry is free with an active Texas State Parks Pass. No registration or additional fee required for this event. 

We will refrain from using white light or cell phones at this event. These can interfere with our night vision and it takes about 30 minutes for your eyes to readjust!
