Description:

As part of International Dark Sky week, we’d like to introduce YOU to our dark skies and all the stars that inhabit them!

Join a park ranger as we learn to navigate our dark skies. From finding constellations to specific stars. From myths and legends about these celestial beings to scientific facts and figures. We’ll spend the evening looking and learning. We will have a telescope(s) set up in Parking Lot 1, feel free to bring your own.

This event coincides with the Lyrids Meteor shower which runs from April 16-25, so we may even see some meteors (the shower peaks April 22 & 23)!

As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.

Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee to attend this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. No need to register, just show up.

Meet in Parking Lot 1.
